Is The Hype in New York Real?

As of August 14th, at 7:09 PM, Woody Johnson and company signed a four-time pro-bowler and longtime Minnesota Vikings RB1, Dalvin Cook, on a one-year, 8.6-million-dollar contract.

Dalvin Cook has spent the past 7 seasons in Minnesota and was released in early June by the Vikings leaving him with no place to call home. Dalvin shared the backfield with Alexander Mattison and Cook saw most of the time on the field, but injuries began to derail his career the past couple of seasons, Mattison was given a larger role in the Minnesota backfield, leaving Dalvin in the shadows giving him less respect than he once had.

It was time for Cook to depart from Minnesota and start a new home in a bigger city with more buzz. With the Jets signing Aaron Rodgers in free agency this spring, the lights are shining down on the meadowlands. Not to mention, the Jets are also featured on this year's Hard Knocks, showing the insides of this seasons new hot team. With a core of Aaron Rodgers, Dalvin Cook, Garrett Wilson, and other impactful targets on the offensive side of the ball who is stopping the Jets? And the defense? Don't even start with the defense. Sauce Gardner, CJ Mosely, and Quinnen Williams! This Jets team on both sides of the ball is scary.

The real question is, what happens with the Jets backfield? A young Breece Hall mixed with a veteran Dalvin Cook. Will Dalvin be able to step in and mentor the young sophomore back out of Iowa State? Or will Dalvin be selfish and want to secure as many carries as possible? All Jets and football fans will wait to find out if the buzz and hype in New York is real, or if the Jets are frauds.
