From Noah Lyles, to Issam Asinga, I am going to explain to you all that you need to know about this recent blowup in Track and Field media attention. Just four days ago Noah Lyles was crowned as the 100 meter dash champion at the World Athletics Championships with a blazing time of 9.83 seconds. This time was not only world class, but it came as a surprise to many as Lyles is most notably known for being a 200 meter sprinter. This was even more surprising because many people did not even think Lyles stood a chance in the 100 meter dash. His defining attributes are his top speed and final kick. While these are the reason why he is the greatest American 200 meter runner, he lacks the elite start that characterizes many of the 100 meter greats.
