Angels All In!

Written By: Stuart Graeber, Swish Tribune

The Los Angeles Angels have acquired CJ Cron (1B) and Randal Grichuk (OF) from the Colorado Rockies for minor league pitchers Jake Madden (RHP) and Mason Albright (LHP).

Only five games back from the AL West leading Texas Rangers, and only four games out of a Wildcard spot, the Angels have made their move to make a push for the Postseason. Despite gaining two strong bats for the middle of their order, the Angels will be losing their No. 8 prospect in Jake Madden and their No. 28 prospect Mason Albright. Giving up two top thirty prospects near the deadline is a clear indication that the Angels are looking to make a run this year.

This trade should also make it clear that Shohei Ohtani will remain an Angel for the rest of the season and maybe a last ditch effort from the Angels to show Ohtani that they are here to win now. With Mike Trout coming off a surgery that only took Jose Ramirez four weeks to recover from last season, the Angels are looking to get hot at the right time.

Coming down the stretch, this will be a fun team to watch compete for a spot in the AL's best six.
