The Immaculate Return of Caroline Wozniacki

The Immaculate Return of Caroline Wozniacki

Danish grand-slam champion Caroline Wozniacki returned to tennis just a month ago and is making her mark at the US Open. Being her first major since the 2020 Australian Open and retirement three years ago, nothing crazy was expected from Wozniacki. However, the Dane is into the third round in New York and is set to face American Jen Brady, who recently returned from injury. In round two, Wozniacki defeated two-time major champion Petra Kvitová in stunning fashion.

Wozniacki herself has spent a total of 71 weeks at the No. 1 spot of the WTA rankings. In her career, she has captured 30 titles including the 2018 Australian Open. She is also a two-time finalist at the US Open, losing to Kim Clijsters in 2009 and Serena Williams in 2014. Now, after having two kids with former NBA player David Lee, Wozniacki is looking to continue her strong return with a second week at the US Open.
