Can the Chargers finally overcome the edge in the AFC? My answer is YES.

Tom Telesco and the other Chargers front office have made big moves this offseason. The first thing the Bolts did was keep their star running back Austin Ekeler. Austin Ekeler was one of the many star running backs who stood up against unequal pay in the industry. Austin Ekeler agreed to return to the Bolts for at least one more year, with two million dollars worth of incentives. With this much to play for, the start 27-year-old is going to have a performing year. Austin Ekeler is coming off two straight seasons where he records over 900 yards and is the best receiving RB in the NFL. Who would not want this stud on their team? Especially fantasy owners.

Welcome Erik Kendricks

Getting a start All-pro defensive lineman is an addition that can transform this defense. Kendricks is coming from two elite years where he recorded over 130 combined tables. Erik Kendricks is one of the best replacements the Chargers could have signed for Drue Tranquill. According to PFF, he ranked 6th in assists on tackles and is a force to be reckoned with. In his whole career drafted in 2015,  he has an average of 15 sacks and 54 tackles for loss.

Brandon Staley's job just got saved.

By signing Kellen Moore as the new offense coordinator, the Chargers just received the greatest blessing in saving their season.  He oversaw productive offense during his time with Dem Boys and hopes to replicate the same production with a future All-pro quarterback in Justin Hebert and his new offense weapons. There were lots of complaints about how the offense was run last year, and Moore will make sure it is dominating defense every Sunday.

Hello Mr. Quentin Johnston

With the 21st overall pick in the 2023 draft, the Chargers select TCU stud Quentin Johnston. With a 6’4 frame and a 40-yard dash time of 4.3 seconds, it is going to be difficult to contain all 3-star receivers on this explosive offense. Johnston played an integral role in the Horned Frogs' superb national championship run last year. Johnston caught 53 passes for 901 yards and 5 touchdowns last season as the leading receiver for the Frogs. He is looking to convert his success to the NFL, With his run-making abilities he doesn't rely exclusively on his speed and height to make plays, extremely capable of justin his body to secure a ball. He will be a force to be reckoned with under Kellen Moores's offense.

After an embossing 27-0 lead blow in the wild-card game against Jacksonville, the charges are playing with advantage and will make the leap they need to make it to the AFC championship game.

GO BOLTS!
